Who is Richmond Restorative Justice LLC

Restorative Justice provides an opportunity for communities to repair harm and promote healing through the use of dialogue circles. Individuals come together face-to-face with a trained facilitator to work through shared challenges. This process strengthens communities by empowering them to develop their own solutions.

Our History

Richmond Restorative Justice (RRJ) was established with a federal grant through the Richmond Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney (OCA), under the leadership of elected city prosecutor Colette McEachin. The work of RRJ is continued with support from the City of Richmond and the OCA. Criminal justice reform has been a focus of the OCA for over two decades. The office is committed to promoting practices that embody the principles of public safety, equity, and justice. As prosecutors, they believe it is their ethical and moral duty to consider the rights, needs, and interests of everyone touched by crime in the City of Richmond. That universe includes victims, those charged with crimes, and community members who are impacted by their conduct. The OCA believes all members of the community deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.

What is Restorative Justice?

A different way of doing things.
